CONGREGATION OF THE HOLY GHOST
NIGERIA NORTH WEST PROVINCE
The Congregation of the Holy Spirit Nigeria North West Province is a part of the worldwide Roman Catholic religious missionary congregation – the Holy Ghost Fathers and Brothers also known as the Spiritans. The activities of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit begun on the 27th May 1703 when a young man Claude Poullart Des Places having gathered some young men, instructed and dedicated themselves to the service of the poorest of the poor within the French Colonies and were consecrated to the Holy Spirit. Today, with a 300-year legacy of announcing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor, Spiritans serve as “advocates, supporters and defenders of the weak and the little ones against all who oppress them.
